I just converted to BE9 & a new SDLT220 drive (from BE8.5 & a 4mm drive). To test that the SDLT worked, I tried doing a quick erase. This erase of a brand new cartridge did not run properly, in fact it caused the network to lock up. Now, whenever I insert this particular cartridge in the drive, it endlessly runs the tape back-and-forth until I do a hardware eject. Is there any way I can salvage this new $100 tape cartridge for reuse? Thanks for any clues!
