SDLT-Library Legato wants cleaning tape

Hi,

we have been told by our distributor of our sdlt-library, that no cleaning tape is needed for sdlt-drives.
Now networker wants a cleaning tape before starting further saves...

That is right, we were told to clean the drives manually at
periodic intervals (6 months??) from the ATL front panel.

That said, auto cleaning was turned off in the jukebox
configuration in Networker..there are no cleaning slots.
Perhaps you have this turned in the jukebox configuration or
drive configuration area?

Make sure that:

NetWorker version is the same on the backup server and storage node (including patches). If not sure, then download and upgrade to NetWorker 6.1.3 on both.

Jukebox is not set up with auto clean. If it is, then change it with nwadmin.

The storage node has Remote Storage Magager completely disabled

You have the up to date drivers for the jukebox and SDLT installed.

It is not a real problem with your SDLT drives.

Hi

from ATL we got the information, that the Mode-Page in the SDLT-Drive has an entry called "CleaningOff".
This bit has to be set. So the drive won`t ask for a CleaningTape.
