SDI Connector Pinouts

I am running a cable for a TTY device and need the pinouts for the connectors on each end. I will be using a 9 pin male connector on the switch side plugging into a quad paddleboard and a 9 pin female connector on the opposite end plugging into a serial port on a PC with Hyperterminal.

I have the 9 pin connectors on each end that I can pin myself. Just need to know which color goes to which pin number on the DB9 on each end. Will have just a regular cat 5 network cable running between them.

This is from the circuit card installation NTP:

Pin # | Signal | Purpose in DTE mode | Purpose in DCE mode
1 DCD | Data Carrier detect (Note 1) | Data Carrier detect (Not used)
2 RD | Transmitted data | Received data
3 TD | Received data | Transmitted data
4 DTR | Data terminal ready | Data terminal ready (Note 2)
5 GND | Signal Ground | Signal Ground
6 DSR | Data set ready (Note 1) | Data set ready
7 RTS | Request to send (Not Used) | Request to send (Note 2)
8 CTS | Clear to send (Note 1) | Clear to send

So pins 1-8 need to be connected; I don't believe what color matters you're going straight through.

Matt is showing the ribbon cable pinout directly from the paddle board, Gene is showing the actual pinout from DB9.

The formatting doesn't look exactly correct, but it's close enough where you get the idea.

the DB9 to RJ45 Hoods in the example below are made by blackbox, so the color code could be different if you are using a different product.
