I´ve been lucky enough never to get into any real problems with the old SD card problem from when the v2 was new:

When something to the effect of the problem it has been solved with rebooting an sending in an old config. However, this time, in Manager, all licenses (except for the virtual ones)are invalid and the "Dongle Serial Number" says "None" after I sent the old config and rebooted. Anyone who has encountered this before?

I´ve read something about removing "read only" from the system folder on the SD card? Could that work? Or maybe format the card? Ive tested removing the card, rebooting. No go.

Have you seriously left this kit on 6.0(8) knowing all about the issues??? Not least any bigs fixes addressed in later release.

All I can suggest is to rebuild the SD in Manager and try put the config again. Do this with a later version of Manager like 6.0(18), don't leave it on 6.0(8).

Football is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

IP500v2 is a good reason I keep spare SD card, but 6.0(8)! Ouch this had some nasty bugs!
Indeed You want to get 6.0(18) firmware on it ASAP! Then try rebuilding the SD Card, load config.

All that happened is that the config became corrupt.
This is from a tech bulletin:

If the system is to be upgraded remotely and is an IP500v2 platform please check the size of the IP Office configuration file (config.cfg) held on the system SD card before upgrading to this release. The config.cfg file can be found in the “Primary” folder of the System SD card. For further information please refer to “Viewing the Card Contents” in the “SD Card Management” section of the IP Office Installation Manual.
If it is determined that the IP Office configuration file stored on the System SD card has a zero byte size it is likely that the issue documented in CQ105039 “SD Card - Config periodically defaulting following a system restart” has occurred. In this instance the IP500v2 system will potentially restart with a default configuration. In this instance it is recommended that the following procedure to upgrade the IP500v2 system is performed when connected to the customer’s LAN:
1) Using Manager, take a copy of the System configuration and store on the local Administration PC.
2) Connect to the IP Office’s LAN and perform a System Restart using Manager.
3) When the system has restarted use Manager to send the backup of the customer’s system configuration file to the IP500v2.
4) Restart the system and recheck the size of the IP Office configuration in the System SD card.
5) Upgrade the IP500v2 system to the 6.0(18) GA release.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks for the respons!

Peter, basically what I've done is step 1-4 from the tech bulletin (not upgraded yet). All seem good except for all the licenses are invalid, and its due to the Dongle not being recognized. It says "none" even though the SD card seem to work ok.

Open monitor and go to filters -> services and check the option "memory commands"
Then pull the card and plug it back in.
Show us the trace.

Is it necessary to pull the card while the system is operational? Because rebooting the system gives me nothing for the "memory commands" option, and doing a card "Shut down" and "Start up" shows that, but nothing more.

It should show more.
But yes just pull it and plug it back in.

there were some dodgy SD card readers on some chassis too. has it just done this out of the blue?
I had one out of the blue that didn't quite let the card sit correctly. it looked like it was in properly, but internally it wasn't in the reader properly. similar/ but intermittent problem as you describe.

Didn't the way the system booted too from 6.0.8 and 6.0.14/18, where the system actually read the config from the SD card on boot to run from, but on later 14/ 18 firmware that was decided to be a bad idea when things like 0 length configs came to be, and reboots happened and defaulted the system...?

at least that's how it was explained to us?!

Well, now I've formatted the SD Card, Recreated it and put it in a brand new IPO. Still "None" instead of a dongle number in manager. So I guess now it´s just swaping the licenses over to another card left for me. Thanks for all the help though!

That sounds like a good idea.
This one seems to be broken.
This must be a card of the first batch which have issues sometimes.
