HELP PLEASE

I have had the unfortunate pleasure of upgrading 2 systems, IP 500 V2, in the last 48 hours from 6.0 (14) to 6.0 (18).

After the upgrade SSA shows me first that the system is running on secondary software, then it shows that there is an incompatible or invalid SD card fitted: System

Has anyone experienced this, and is there a resolution to it? The upgrade process said that all systems had upgraded successfully.

I've had the same issue. I think its got something to do with the format & recreation of the SD Card.

I'm trying to do a format & recreate through win xp. Hopefully it will work.

Thanks and good luck, let me know if it works please

I failed using xp as I can't seem to locate 1. I retried through win 7 & I think i've got somewhere.

The only changes I made were to my working directory & binary directory

My WD was set to D:\Customers & my BD was set to C:\Program Files\Avaya 6.0.8\IP Office\Manager\

I reentered both of them as C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager\ cilcked on recreate SD & it formatted & recreated the card. Now my Incompatible error has gone

Your card is "read only"

Remove the read only by putting it in a card reader and uncheck it for the system folder.
After that recreate the card with manager and be sure that the working directories are on the default install location.
After that put the last config on the card (rename it to config.cfg)

This should do the trick.

This will happen to all 6.0.8 systems so when you can upgrade those systems and read the latset techbulletin.
You can do this with recreating the card.

sorry to rehash old post, I recently had a similar issue when upgrading from 6.0.8 to 6.0.18. Ended up getting the sd card issue resolved using above method from tlpeter, and leaving the customer at 6.0.8.

tlpeter (or anyone else) could you expand on your comment "this will happen to all 6.0.8 systems"

I dont see anything in the 6.0.8 or 6.0.18 tech bulletins detailing this kind of issue.

It is a bug in 6.0.8
Although i have seen issues with the card on 6.0 and 6.1
But when i recreated the card it worked again so it did not defaulted the config and it did not need a format (happened me too)

I treat this as I do the 3.2.999 thing, I always reformat and recreate every SD card we get regardless of what Avaya say :)

I have only experienced this when doing remote upgrades, dont know if that sheds any light on the matter

I think since I started with IPO I have only ever done 1 remote upgrade, so that's not a factor (for me anyway) :)

Mmmmm I do them all over the country from the comfort of my home Office, would hate to have to drive 1300km to Cape Town to upgrade a system.

What I do often though is I update a PC on the local site and remote control that. That also works a charm, but since the new admin cd downloads are about 1 Gb, my customers dont like downloading it on the remote sites, as it times out all too often.

I had a SD card that would not format in one of my business partners card readers though.
