There are a bunch of people in my office having this problem. They will get a virus alert that norton found a backdoor.trojan called with a executablt called sctloader.exe. It will quarentee it and then when you sca the system it reports nothing, but you still continue to recieve massive amounts of pop-ups and have slowness. Anyone have any fixes/ideas to kepe this off my network?

HI

Download hijackthis from

Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

After the scan has finished the "scan" button will turn into a "save log" button

---
You will see these 2 entries

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [stcloader] C:\WINDOWS\System32\stcloader.exe

O16 - DPF: {13197ACE-6851-45C3-A7FF-C281324D5489} -

Close all browser windows - run hijackthis and tick to fix them.

Reboot then find and delete this file :-

C:\WINDOWS\System32\stcloader.exe (file)

--
If you want - save the log file and paste it here - and someone will have a look at it.

Do not delete anything yet, as most things hijackthis finds are harmless and needed.
