I attached a external super DLT quantum tape drive to a ultra 60 and I modfied the st.conf file with two lines but I am still getting scsi errors

Here is the two lines from the st.conf
"SuperDLTape", "QUANTUM SuperDLT1", "DLT-data";
DLT-data = 1,0x38,0,0x8639,4,0x90,0x91,0x90,0x91,3;

Here is the errors that I get

# mt -f /dev/rmt/0 status
Vendor 'QUANTUM ' Product 'SuperDLT1 ' tape drive:
sense key(0x6)= Unit Attention residual= 0 retries= 0
file no= 0 block no= 0
# !!

Is the DLT the first device on the scsi chain.
If not , make it the first. If yes, looks like you have a controller problem..
You may also connect another device on the controller and see if you get timeouts.

Did you put a terminator or the last device of the scsi chain ?

The first chain is the internal hard disk, The second chain is the external DLT tape drive and is the only device on this chain (on controller 1), I tried using a external SCSI hard disk on this host bus and it worked perfect,

Are there any settings that I need to configure in the glm.conf, if yes what are the settings to configure the SCSI tape drive to work.

please help
