My Seagate DAT drive has died - won't eject tape, etc. Prior to replacing it I would like to get the SCSI info such as SCSI ID, LUN ,etc. I printed out the result of the hw command but don't see any relevant info. Is there a file I can view to get the info or do I have to reboot the server and go into the SCSI setup? Any help/advice regarding replacing a DAT drive would be much appreciated.

/usr/adm/messages shows what harware finds on each boot. Will require some reading between the lines.

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

There is a file called "mscsi" (just search for it : should be somewhere down in etc directory) which is basically master scsi table for the scsi devices configured in the kernel in case of SCO OPENSERVER. This has got the desired details.

Hope this helps and sorts your problem !
All the best !

hwconfig | grep tape

will give you what you are looking for if it is Openserver.
