I've installed an adaptec 39320-R controller card.
It has two internal channels.
When connecting my boot drive (maxtor 36GB 15K) to channel A I get this error:
39320 A at Slot 03, 03:0A:00 - SCSI controller configuration error:03

Connecting in Channel B works fine. The PC boots up.

I updated the Controller bios, but that made no difference.

Adaptec site is no help also.

Any ideas?

I too had this problem. I solved it by hitting Ctrl-A to enter the SCSIselect config utility, and then I disabled "termination" for the channel with the error code.

I called Gigabyte, Seagate, and even Adaptec. Nobody would tell me what "SCSI controller configuration error: 03" meant. They couldn't even find any documentation for SCSIselect. They wanted to charge me $80 for tech support. What a bunch of crooks. Does Adaptec even have any competition for SCSI controllers?

I hope this solves your problem too.

Matt
