scrolling text help please... realy getting stuck!!

hello anyone out there, i am really struggling about using the scroller in java. had it once and now it has gone.<br>

i need a box with a number of lines to be displayed in an applet and i cant remember for the life of me how to make the lines scroll upwards. know what i mean??<br>
<br>
it collects parameters from HTML, and needs to be placed into an applet that will scroll the input text upwards.<br>
