Scrolling text boxes within movie

Ok, ladies & gents:

I'm trying to get a scrolling text box to work inside a movie clip. There's a fantastic tutorial on this at FlashKit at

I followed the turial all the way through. And when I test just the movie clip itself (test scene), it works great! But when I test the whole movie, it does not!! Is this some bug? Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had similar oddities in other situations. For example, when I load text from text file within a movie clip, published for Flash 5 the text shows up right away. Published for Flash 4, I have to switch frames before the text will show up.

Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind,I found the problem. I was looping between frames in the main movie, and setting the _visible property to a variable whenever it jumped back to the 1st frame. Apparently, this constant updating of the clip's visibility caused the problem. I set the visiblility only on a trigger, and it works great.
