i have a movie clip that i scroll under a mask. problem is, it warps the backround image in my movie. any ideas why?

scrolling mask distorts background image

i have an image as a background on the stage. i then have a movie clip that contains a scrolling/masked menu. wherever the scrolling part is over the backround, that's the part that gets distorted(ripple-like effect). sorry, don't have a link yet

think i figured it out. the image i was using was a bitmap. i tried converting it to a graphic and the problem goes away =)
