I'm not sure if it'll be enough, but perhaps changing the page setup to portrait instead of landscape might do the trick.
Otherwise applying the picture as background might help. Right click on the slide - not the text box,then background, click on the drop down menu, fill effect, click on the tab called picture, then click on select picture. Then choose the picture you need from wherever it is that you've saved it and click on insert, and then either apply - for one slide only - or apply to all - for all slides.
You might have to click on "omit background graphics from master in the background menu.
I think perhaps what you need to do is make the picture smaller. Right click on it. Go to Format Picture. Click size and make either the width or height smaller -- the one you don't change will automatically adjust.
