Hi,

I have made a webpage consisting out of multiple frames.
In one of the frames the "scrolling" is set to "auto".
The problem is now that I just want to have a vertical scroll instead of the two scrollbars (vert and hor).
I know that I can solve this by changing my layout (for instance by using nestad tables etc..)so that the width of my webpage fits perfectly in the frame. But this is not satisfying me.
Is there no solution by using Javascript ?

Thanks in advance
JeroenB

Instead of having the tables set as pixels, have them as 100%...
But on a side note, frames are a no-no because users don't like them (including me)...just FYI I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

GUJU,

Frames are NOT, I repeat NOT, a no-no !!!
I personally like making framset's a WHOLE lot better
tha using includes and the likes. It's a whole lot simpler
and I never heard users complain about properly implemented
frames. Besides, the average user doesnt really care as
long as it loads quickly.

Besides, direct links to certain parts of your sides can
be easily prevented with only a view lines of javascript
code ... (I thought I put that down because people tend to
name that as the main reason not to choose for frames)

BobbaFet, well everone is entitled to their own opinions...personaly (and I also speak from experience) most ppl. hate frames, because sometimes the browsers handle it "oddly", no matter how wonderfuly you execute the frames...
But yes, most users don't care if they load fast...
If you look at the yahoo clubs (before they started converting to yahoo groups) they used frames and most of the times the results were all iffy... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Then they are bad at programming ... my site is in frames
and it is always displayed the same way.

Users do NOT hate frames, otherwise no-one would be using
Hotmail. (hyperlinks are opened in framesets)

ermm not wanting to be devils advocate but finding it hard to resist being on the 'not a fan of framesets' side (though they do have their place - especially inline - but thats another story and has a whole load of other issues!)

are you sure that your framesets appear exactly the same in ALL browsers considering netscapes habit of converting frame sizes to percentages and back again....of course if there in percentages anyway i guess thats not a problem but this does restrict them a bit...

hmm been so long since i used a frameset perhaps i should just get my coat....

and on a side note cool new smileys - yeah!
