I am using ASP code to generating some of reports for tracking information. The database is MS Access. The codes worked fine at very begining. Recently, it takes more and more time to generate some of the reports. I tried to narrow down the report time period, but still took long time. I copied the database to my development environment to do a test, everything works perfect.
Can anybody give me a hint what could happen to my live site reports.
The Access database now with nearly 300,000 records.

Thanks!

Hi

Create a temporary table for the fields to be shown in report and populate the report using temporary table and drop the table finally. Srinivasa Raghavan

Would you please tell me why I need a temp table help how it could solve my problem? Thanks a lot!

At first guess I would say that your problem is that you are using Access. Access isn't designed to handle that much (from what i have noticed) if you were to switch to a full scale database server (such as MS SQL Server or mySQL) I am willing to bet you would cut your time down significantly.
