Hi, I am looking to make some scripts which will make backups more reliable, I have managed to use ca_devmgr to erase a specific media ready for use before backup. But I cannot seem to find a way to move media between groups using the media board/scsi/lun details.

There looks like there could be a way to do it using the ID of the media but it makes it very hard working out a random number. I was really looking to do it via board/scsi/lun details, does anyone know whether this is possible?

or even move between media pools, i.e from save set to scratch set via the board/scsi/lun identity!

PFC/Pre-flight check is the sort of thing your looking for here in terms of checking that your job will run.

For moving media between pools the ca_dbmgr utility will probably be able to do this for you.
