Yesterday I installed the full Perl 5.8.0 from perl.org, after some apps I was trying to install complained about the default Mandrake 9 version of Perl I was running.
Well, those apps now work OK, but a whole bunch of other Mandrake apps have stopped ... urpmi, mcc, etc. The problem seems to be that they're expecting Perl libary files to be somewhere other than they are, so I get errors like:
...etc. So what do I do here? Do I need to recompile Perl 5.8.0... and if so, how? Or can I remove it and go back to the previous version? Again, if so how?
Thanks from a befuddled newbie for any and all help.
