1) I am @ present setting up login scripts for NTW & NTW2000. The OS's use difference file structures I need to differeciate between the two in order to run different script. To copy different files updates etc.
I was going to use if "%OS%" == "Windows_NT" GOTO :WINNT
WINNT will run the script), but %OS% is detected as 'winnt' in both OS's. I thought about running ver & piping the output to match exactly.
Winnt = Windows NT Version 4.0
win2000 = Microsoft Windows 2000 [Version 5.00.2195]
Can anybody advise on how I can capture this output & use it as a variable?
2) Also I require a prompt for Y/N to capture this output so that a batchfile will continue or exit. So of like read: in Unix?
3) last but not least ............. I would like to run outlook's .wab & message file from the user area i.e. f:\%user%\mail is this possible. This is an attempt to stop users wab & mail file fom being review by other staff
