Has anyone used a script through task schedule to run NT Backup on a SBS server?

No problems. I currently use a lot of MS SBS with Symantec or Veritas for SBS. I just think Symantec is an extra cost most of my customers could do with out.

Thanks for the link.

I saw your wish list at the end of the script. Have you thought about loading selection set file before the backup runs? You could then backup whatever you wanted in one job. Just a thought.

LW, Thanks for the link to the script. I"m having trouble with it though. I use th RD1000 Disk based backup from Dell. Windows sees it as a removable disk but it always gets the same drive letter. I cannot get the script to recognize the drive as a backup device. Any ideas?

If the drive is recognized as a drive letter, then it should work. You need to run "backup prepare x:" where x: is the drive letter of the device. Prepare basically places a small text file on the disk that the script uses to look for to indicate the disk is meant for backup.

LW, Where do I run the Backup prepar x: from. A standard command line or from within the script setup utility that I run?

You run it from the same location as the script in a command prompt. It should only need to be run once for every drive you use.
