SCRIPTING: Hot to return Impromptu Report Prompts

Pretty much as the title suggests, is there a way of returning the and counting the prompts from within a report, please.

I need to count the prompts and show what the prompts are prompting for.

Using Versions 6 and 7, to 7.3

Have tried the web/this site search and of course, the Cognos docs.
