Scripting a scan

I would like to configure, via a Novell login script, the scan and on Access scan properties for client machine.
We have EPO but some machine will not shut down with th agent running, hence the need to for the script.
This is a big problem as several clients have the Pate.b virus and are constantly infecting servers we have in the business.
Any ideas how this can be done?
