Script to split text into Excel cells from a QR Code - iPhone - Any Leads on where to start?

If I wanted to build some sort of app or script to run on iPhones that could take the input from a QR code and split it into different values (preferably - I think - different cells in an Excel file), is there any straight-forward tool? It seems VBA isn't possible on iPhones, but I'd be glad to find out I'm wrong.
