Script to establish VPN connection??

How can I call a dial-up networking session using a script?

Here's what I want to do.

Click on Icon for script
script launches dial-up networking connection
dial-up networking establishes VPN connection
Script maps network drives.

I think I've figured out how to map the network drives. One problem I can forsee is once the dial-up networking connection is established. Does control go back to the script? Or will the script be stalled just before mapping the network drives?
