Script to control excel

Hi there.
I'm looking for a script that will open Microsoft excel prompt me to choose a file and then generate a pivot table from the information in the file.

I don't have any vb programming experience but I was told that it was the best option to choose for what I wanted to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
