Now then boffins!!

Is there a script that i can run which checks dimms installed in server and tells me how many slots are free, without actually having to take the cover off the box.

I have a programme called memconf but this does not work on e450, so i was wondering if anyone else out there has something similar, or an alternative.

Thanks for help!

Regards

Sy,

memconf works on my E450, but remember that it's a perl script, which will require perl to be installed in the box. Cheers.

Don't know if this helps but if I run /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag on my E250 it tells me which DIMMS are in which banks. You might be able to work out from this if there are any banks left unpopulated by comparing it to the handbook.

Hope it helps :)

Hi, Scunningham99
You might want to try the link listed below. SunVTS is Sun's Hardware Test Suite. I know it is included with most valid copies of Solaris and is included as freeware. SUnVTS is the tool I use to test all of my Solaris hardware, and stress test it when I need to.
