Hi ALL

i have netbackup business server 3.4 using L9 on SunSolaris box.

We change the tapes every day, and each time new tapes are put in to drive, we have to select inventory bobot --> perform volume configuration update.

i there anyway i can do this in a script from command line which does it automatically!!!!

Try that one:

vmupdate -rn 0 -rt tld -use_barcode_rules -use_seed -empty_ie

Replace "rn 0" by the correct robot number.
Replace "rt tld" by the correct robot type.
I'm not sure that you need to use the "empty_ie" option,
only if your tape library has an I/O port.

You could get those informations running "robtest" command or throught the Administrtor's interface.

I know the -empty_ie switch above is used to repopulate the empty slots automatically, but i think what is needed here is a simple re-inventory - so....

We use Datacenter, but i imagine the command is the same; to inventory robot - from the command line type 'bpadm'.

Nice and simple..
