Does anyone have a login script that will automatically map Outlook to the Exchange server. I have a number of users that move from pc to pc and we are constantly having to set up their Outlook to point to the correct mail server.
I don't. But, just an FYI, Exchange 2007 functionality will no longer require us to configure profiles.
"The new Autodiscover feature further eases deployment – by creating an automatic connection between Exchange Server and Outlook 2007 clients where no special scripts or complex user intervention is required." MS
A copy of mine has been appended to the end of this Email - will need to be tailored to your setup - I have included two versions. One puts Outlook into cached mode and the other non-cached.
We then used the login script to call the PRF file (which will open Outlook temporarily) or a more clever way is to add it to the registry in the Outlook "first run" key but you will need to get something like GetSID (by sysinternals.com) to work out exactly where in the registry it will need to be written.
Hope his helps.
Jon

OUTLOOK NON-CACHED MODE - REPLACE %VARIABLES% ACCORDINGLY
%USERNAME% is a system variable of user logon.
In my system, this is the same as the Exchange mailbox name
