i have found a line like this

eval(effect add ":char")=newtext

i knw what eval does and the rest to, but all i dont get what it means ":char"?

there are variables named: effect, newtext and char.
is ":" used as an operator or something or it's just a simple text.

This looks like Flash 4 syntax. The ":" was then used to indicate/define a variable. So was "add" Flash 4 syntax.
