Can anyone suggest a way to page support team through a script if the application does not come up clean after a restart through cron job.The application is tuxedo based.
You could have another cron job that runs periodically to check whether the application is running (grep through ps listing perhaps?) and send an email if it is not.
There are some email gateways to paging systems, but that depends very much on what pager you have, how much you are prepared to pay for the service, etc.
If you want to monitor lots of things and your pager is mail enabled, BigBrother is the way to go. I know it can also dial direct with a little finagling.
