Pardon the newbie question......trying to find my feet...

I am creating a CD ROM which has an opening screen made up of a .swf in an .html page. The Flash file contains buttons to start various bits of video.

Which Action Script should I attach to a button to start a Windows Media PLayer .wmv video?

I used getURL with the name of the video file as the URL but it tried to go via IE and I don't want that.

Your help would be most apreciated.

Thanks

Nick

I'd recommand a batch file (.bat) where you open the file in media player. The execution command for the .bat can be done in Actionscript. See the many many many answers about executing a file from flash. Diana.

Thanks Diana.

I actually tried to search the forum for answers before posting but Tek-Tips search has been down for some days now.
