Script execution error

Hello Experts,

I have below error popping up intermittently in an ASP Website. I am stuck and am not able to find what could cause this error.


Script execution error: This method cannot be called until the send method has been called getcontent:



I am hoping that one of you had already seen this error and had resolved this as well. Please help!

While there are a great many experts on this site in general and this forum in particular, none of them (to my knowledge) is a mind-reader or has ESP. You have provided an error message that cannot be easily Googled and no other corollary information as to what the site does or contains nor any code - relevant or otherwise. In which case, you can expect to receive an insignificant degree of assistance until you can provide correspondingly greater amounts of information.

Apologies Chopstik for getting on your nerves.

I should have mentioned in the Original Post that I have nothing more than the error message to seek your expert advice. The code was created and supported by a Third Party and they have suggested there are no errors in their source (as it works normally and decides not to work occassionally).

I was trying to see if any of us here has seen this error message before as there are no mention of this message in Google. Probably an application custom error message?

You were not getting on my nerves. I was just trying to explain that without more information it would be virtually impossible to provide any semblance of help. My apologies if my response came across in a negative manner.

The error message is unfamiliar to me (personally) and Googling it did not return anything useful. What is the third party vendor application? Realistically, the issue is most likely in their source and is something that they will probably need to track down - though it does not sound like they are willing to take ownership of the issue. In which case, you may have to consider either building something yourself or finding another vendor who can assist you.

Probably.
If you have the source code for the application then maybe use a tool like grep to search for specific text within a set of files. If you don't find it, try searching for a subset of the sentence like "until the send method" or "Script execution error:" because it is possible that the displayed error message is concatinated from multiple substrings.

I will get the vendor to check the source in a bit more detail. Will post back as soon as I am able to find something.
