IE
Hi there

I have a problem. I have a web based application from Nortel that workes fine on all versions of ie6 except for a particular set of machines that are all built in the same way. When i try and use a menu that pops down on these i get a objects doesn't support this method or property error message, or a MSHTML error message where ie closes down.

Having installwed ie7 to test, the application works fine, however this is not a company supported application so i need to get ie6 working on these machines.

Does anyone know what files ie7 uses instead of, or replaces in ie6 when it is installed as this might help me in getting a resolution. i dont want to have to reinstall xp on all these machines if possible

Many thanks in advance.

I'd ask Nortel about that: maybe it's a Javascript error but I don't think that should close the browser.

If you can't, I'd try to know which are the differences between the IE6 configurations and change them back.

Cheers,
Dian

Do a search on Microsoft.com. IE6 has a known problem with mshtml.dll and some custom built pop ups, so that an updated version of the dll is required. This may fix your problem.

Thanks for your replies..
I have just found a fix on and this has done the trick! Its a really useful utility that allowed me to reload the IE part of XP from the XP disks without reinstalling it
