script deactivation failed?

Hello,

We are currently running SCCS 5. Upgrading to CCM6 in the next 2 weeks. So I am clearing up the system before this, but when I try to delete scripts I get "script deactivation failed because if it currently referenced by an active/delete pending parent script".

I removed the scripts from the master where they were referenced, and I am sure they are not referenced anywhere else. So how do I remove this?

I read someone else on these forum, with 4.x, was told he needed to reboot the server, but there must be another way.

SCCS is not very good about cleaning up after itself. You can try and wait until the next day (after end of day processing) and try again. If it still won't deactivate, then you need to try a reboot to clean it up.

Me advice: if you're sure the script is ready to be deactivated, schedule a reboot. Don't waste time looking for another way to deactivate it.

Well that's a PITA!...Thanks for the response. I sort of knew that would be the answer, but find it hard to believe that Nortel would have such an obvious bug.

Have you been working with Nortel products for very long?

Seriously, if I were running a call center, I would be backing up the server daily and rebooting it on a regular schedule (say weekly or bi-weekly). Cleaning up after scripts is only one area it does not do well.

This is the first Nortel product I have had the ...pleasure?... of dealing . Been doing this for about 1.5 years, with no official training. I only deal with symposiums front end, and coordinate with our vendor about the hardware in the back.

We do nightly backups, but I am unsure of the reboot schedule, if there is one. I guess we must reboot some time, as I have deactivated scripts in the past that were no longer needed. I will have to check with the vendor on this.

In the last year, we have grown so fast that it is time to clean up my scripts, and standardize the app. and skillset names. This is the first time I am running into the issue now.

I am not sure if this is the same problem you have, but looks like it may be a known issue.
