Anybody know of a good communications program that also happens to be freeware? Haven't had to use serial communications for a while and probably should have saved some software. I will be doing direct communications to COM1, with both Windows 98 and Windows 2000 and maybe XP in the near future.

Hyperterminal is short a few things:

1 Scripting to my knowledge.

2 displaying Ascii Code eg: <ETX><STX> (or even hex codes would be good)

3 Raw Data transfer capability.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

direct cable connection? useful for transferring files - not much good for anything else mind! <marc>[ul]help us help![li]please provide feedback on what works / doesn't[/li][li]not sure where to start? click here: faq581-3339[/li][/sup][/ul][/sup]

i second that idea. its a add-in in your communications section of add/remove progs. it works well with 98. "Jack of all trades. Master of none."
