I was atempting to update my lib path using crle and screwd up my Sloaris 9 box. Now it will only boot into single user read only mode. I have booted up off the cdrom drive and I want to mount the proper slice so I can edit the /var/ld/ldconfig file to the proper path of usr/lib and not /usr/local/lib which is what I added thinking it would add on to and not replace /usr/lib. How do I get the computer to give me a list of the slices and mount points from the hard drive? The server is a Sun Sunfire V100 running IDE devices. Once I have the mount points I should be able to monut the drive and edit the file right? Or am I totally @#$%!&.

cd to /etc there you will find the vfstab file which has all of the info you will need.

Good Luck.

ok I got my slices and mount points. How do I mount the Hard disk if I boot off the cdrom like the following: boot cdrom -sw

mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /mnt would mount that partition under the /mnt directory. Annihilannic.

I got it fixed. Thanks all.
Here is what I did for those who want to know.

booted to single user mode
init 0
boot cdrom -sw
mount /dev/dsk/c0t2d0s0 /mnt
cd /mnt/var/ld
vi ld.config
edit entry to read /usr/lib
:wq!
reboot

Hope this helps
