ScreenSaver via Group Policy

Screensaver works when I point to screensaver.scr file using UNC path. It will not work when I use when I try to configure using %userprofile%\screensaver.scr or %temp%\screensaver.scr

How can I make that work? I have a logon script running which copies the .scr file to users profile and/or to temp folder.
