I am trying to get a custom screensaver file to display on 9608G phones but not having any luck.

I have the 46xxsettings.txt file amended with SET SCREENSAVERON 2 and SET SCREENSAVER logo.jpg
The phone does appear to download logo.jpg as the file path shows up on the screen after the phone gets the language pack files. The file name/path also changes on the phone according to what I put in the SET SCREENSAVER line in the 46xxsettings.txt file so I am quite confident that the phone is getting the image file.

The size of the image checked in Windows Paint is horizontal 119 and vertical 79 pixels. The file size is 6kb
The image size is within the max parameters defined for the 9608 which is supposed to be 180 x 120 pixels.

The phone does respond to a change in the SET SCREENSAVERON timer.
The problem though is that a custom image does not display, the phone only shows the word AVAYA bouncing around the screen after the required time.

I have used CRAFT# to Clear the phones and re-register them.

I have also tried changing the image to one of the jpg files already on the IPO, 9608scr.jpg or 96xxiposs.jpg or 96xxscr.jpg. Again I can see the files showing up on the phone screen while phone's downloading its settings files.

The IPO is running R11 FP4
9608G phones are on firmware 6.8.2.02

Any suggestions?

Holdmusic34 did a post on this a while back. I found the post but the files he shared are gone.

It sounds like your file image is too large. IIRC it can be no larger than 240x200 pixels.
Try 50x50 pixels, get it to load and then increase your size from there. Make sure it's black and white (grayscale).

To hear the word 'No' in German, press 9.

Just as a point, you should be using 46xxspecials.txt to configure handset settings, the 46xxsettings.txt file should be left to autogenerate as editing it can cause issues.

We use a custom logo called logo_9608.jpg on ours, here's what the 46xxspecials.txt file looks like: (Notice I just dumped it into GENERALSPECIALS to catch all handsets that we connect)
