Configuration:
Motherboard :MSI KT4AV-L (VIA KT400A)
AMD Duron 1.8 GHz
Video Card : MSI RX9200SE-T128 - 128 Mo TV-Out (ATI Radeon 9200SE)

Mem :256 Mo DDR-SDRAM PC3200

Screen is a very old 15' of Packard Bell

Did you try adjusting the brightness with the monitor's controls?

If so and that does not help, then you try adjusting the brightness and/or gamma in the video card's software.

If no luck, then the monitor may be too old to properly work with the games' configured resolutions and frequencies.

You mean with 3D games? Yeah I have something similar with my Radeon 9600XT. I guess you can try something similar, go into the ATI menu of the video properties. Enable the hotkeys, and program something like Alt-F1 and F3 to increase the brightness and gamma. I don't know if mre recent drivers hcan cure it, but in my setup I can restore the brightness levels in the 3D games with this method.
