Hi

This may seem a very simple problem however I cannot find an option anywhere to add a screensaver that is an image that I have created and saved.

I have Windows 2000 Pro and to get to the 'Screensaver options' I simply right-click on the desktop and go to "Properties" and then click the tab: "Screensaver". However there is only a limited drop down list of screensavers to choose from. There is no "browse" option for adding a userdefined screensaver. I need to find an option of adding my image to the desktop as the screensaver if this is possible. I can add the image to the desktop background no problem, but adding it as a screensaver seems much harder.

My image is currently saved as a JPEG and is static (i.e doesn't move around) which is fine as I don't need the image to move when it is a screen saver - although a member in another forum did say screensavers have to move around so the screen does not damage.

Should I save my image in a certain directory on my computer and give it the extension ".scr"

Thank you very much for any help.

(ps. I've posted this message in another forum but have not had much success. Please let me know if what I am trying to do is possible.)

Sorry I forgot to mention in my question - if it is necessary to make the image move around as a screen saver, how can this be enabled? I only have Paint Shop Pro 8 so don't know if I can do this.

Any help will be much appreciated.

This is not the correct forum for your question, but an advance...

for desktop background you need only the jpeg image file, for screensaver you *can not* use only the jpg image (or others), a screensaver is like a program. There is screensavers in internet who can use your jpg image and make a kind of slide show or just present it to the screen, *but is a program*.. a screensaver.. *not your image*.

hope this helps.

Thank you for your answer. I did post my question in the Windows 2000 forum, but did not have much success. It is rather a general question and not specific to one area that I can think of except graphics.

Please can anyone help me as to how I could make an image into a slide show as mentioned or make it flash. I can do it fine for Javascript HTML pages but don't know how to make the file accessible when I go to select the screensaver from the drop down list in the desktop Properties.

Thank you for any help.
