I have my users running the Contivity Client version 6_02 on windows xp and they are connecting to a conticity 1740 running version 6 firmware. The client is installed with GINA so that when they logon to their PC's the Nortel GINA comes up so they can logon to the VPN before they logon to the OS and runs the logon scripts etc from the domain. This works great for users accessing our network remotely. My question is that since the Contivity client was installed and if the users have the screen saver enabled on their desktops without password lock, when their screen saver comes up the users are prompted for a password. I have the IPSEC settings in the Group configuration to disable the screensaver password requirement. Some of our users (executives) don't want to be prompted to enter their username and passwords when the screen saver comes up. This happens even if they are not logged on to the VPN. I checked the screen saver settings and the box for the password is unchecked so I don't know why it's doing this. Also I removed the Contivity client and now the screensaver comes up without requiring the username and password so this is defenetly a problem with the VPN client. Is there anything I should do so that I can disable the VPN client from doing this. I want my users to set their screensaver password on their own if they want to.

Thanks

What you described sounds like a bug in the v6 code. My only thought is that the issue may be fixed in the v7 release that came out this week.
