For some reason I changed the screen resolution of my fedora8 server to a higher one and now I'm unable to get any display on the screen. I have changed the inittab to run level 3 and from there have run setup, but there is nothing there that allows me to reset the resolution. Is there any other way that i can do this?

Maybe you could try deleting the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file first before running setup again.

In the end I plugged in another monitor which could support the resolution, changed back to what it should be and then plugged the original monitor in and all was fine.
