Not much to go on here.
Can you tell what code is being executed?
Can you post any of that code?

Maybe you should add an error routine to pinpoint where it's doing this, such as this one:
"I need a user friendly error routine" faq182-4156

[cheers]
Even more Fox stuff at:

on the workstation that works(#1) upper left screen reads
LIST

upper right side of screen shows the path to the file

f:\users\username\foxd25\temp003.txt (003 is user number)

if i make a shortcut to the temp003.txt file i can open it
with notepad.

that is what i do on all workstations except #1.

breadmanjf,
this system error caused in most cases
bad or misspelled path or called program, nothing with Fox.
I suppose...
myfile = f:\users\username\foxd25\temp&user_numb..txt
list to file (myfile)
modi file (myfile)
...or similarly...
(in config.fp , line TEDIT you may change text editor)

may be i am not presenting the issue properly

one workstation works fine - all users

any other workstation - same users - all setup the same
way - using the same batch file on the server to start
the application

cannot show text output via the LIST feature written to the temp text file referenced in previous posts.

but, they all can access the text file via a shortcut

HELP!!!

Can LIST be used to list the contents of a file?
I don't think so.
