Screen on Tape Library always shows "Unloaded"

Anyone ever had this problem where you insert a tape, and as its in the drive, it never changes to "Loaded". I'm thinking my drive has gone bad since my last back a couple weeks ago. I've had the drive for about 3-4 years now. Just curious If something isn't communicating correctly.
