I have an intermittent problem with Windows 98 where the screen font becomes un-readable. This effects all text on the screen including Menus, Icon names and other text.

I've found that making a DOS Window full screen and then Windowed again fixes the problem, for a short while sometimes!

its sound like a video problem try the basic 1st update video card etc. So long and thanks for all the fish.

I checked the S3 site and I'm using the latest driver, bar a beta. So I reinstalled the driver I have and I'll try that. It's been OK so far.

Thanks for the suggestion.

... and me with this terrible pain in all the diodes down my left side. :)

I have encountered a similar phenomenon whereby something seems to change my screen fonts. I have never actually isolated it exactly, but it occurs on installation of VS6, so I am guessing something within this changes all of my fonts.....

To make it more annoying, if you select a desktop theme, everything changes perfectly (fonts included) until you resort to the standard windows theme, at which point it screws up the fonts again.... James Goodman

The problem still exists on my system... and I do have VS6 installed.

I have not used the desktop theme option (yet) but if it fixes the problem then I might try one.

I have seen this problem on NT. Especially if the user has a large file as the background image. Changing the image also works.
