Any way to add fields to a screen without using flex?

I want to add the show kit components option from the Print Picking Tickets screen to the Print Packing List screen of options.

I suppose this will break something in Macola.

Also, if the default for a check box is marked "T", shouldn't the box be checked automatically when the screen opens up?

Of course, I would also need to be able to actually use those fields on the packing list as well.

What is Macolas reason not to include kit information on Packing lists?

Yes, you can modify a screen without flex, just go to the screen designer. The default should be 'Y' if you want the box to be checked by default.

Instead of using the "PAcking List" some Macola customers will create a new PickList form to be used as a packing list. The title of the form is "Packing List". This is used exactly (not pun intended) for the reasons you stated. Some clients want more information than the standard pack list premits. The only down side is the order status is not set to '6' PAcking list printed. If the status is important, you would need to print your new pick list form, then the standard packing list. The standard packing list can be printed to file (requires setting change) and discarded. I have several clients that use the alternate pick list this way for printing the kit components.

Status 6 is what we use for internal control to prevent "lost" orders. We use a Crystal Report to find and track those and to stay on top of them.
