I am going to be leaving work soon...i have as of now..umm.. 29 minutes...

I am installing Apache 2.0 on my server at home..from work.
It's a REALLY slow server (free parts, i'm not complaining) and it's been in "make" for like over an hour now. I didn't know it was going to take this long....

While it's still making the file, can I close my ssh client? Or should I use the screen thing to keep it running while I am away? And if I can, can I jsut enter the command in the same ssh client window, or can I do it from another one?

I am so lost...please help. :-( Hope I was of some help...

Even a Tandy TRS80 could have compiled it by now. :) I'd check to see why it froze up.

Ha, ha, ha....

It didn't freeze up. It's just a slow box. The only thing I had to purchase for it was the hard drive. The rest of it was given to me by a few friends. I'm not complaining about the speed...but I'll be darned if I can find 550MHz CPU for it (SIS530/5595 mobo).

I was only trying to find out if I could initiate the screen command while make was already running. I read up on it last night, and answered my question. Hope I was of some help...
