Screen Change question

Good Afternoon,
I'm trying to change the heading of a column and not sure how to proceed. Macola ES and mssql, we are using Item_Note_4 from the imitmidx table to display some customer info in the Item Master maintenance screen. What i would like to do is change the display name of "Note 4" to a differnet name. Is this possible, and if I do it will it make any differance to upgrades?

You can change the names of the notes fields on the item master in the inventory control setup menu. The note is access natually by clicking on the user notes button on the item master 1st page. If you own designer you can expose the note on any of the three pages, and name the field what ever you wish.

Eo do this you need to go to system, company, package settings, distribution, inventory management setup, logistics tab, and change the value for note 4.

Upgrades will not affect this.

That was my first thought, but when I changed it, and then went back to the first Item Maintenance screen and selected insert column, the column was still called note 4. Am I missing something?

You changes the value in the field next to note 4 and then saved the record correct? If you used screen desginer in IM setup, that is not what you are supposed to do.

Check this, and if it still does not work call Exact. I have tested this on my ES and it works fine.

Well...you hit the nail on the head. If I did change it with screen disginer can I fix it?

Yeah....change it back to 'Note 4'....Then change the value in the field next to note 4.
