So, I started up my computer today and that wen't fine, checked mail, surfed the web. After 3 minutes the screen went blank.

Here is what I have done so far;

1. I rebooted and no signal was sent to monitor
2. I ran to the store and bought a cheap PCIe graphics card - no difference
3. I switched to another monitor to see if that was the problem - it wasn't
4. I pulled out all harddrives - I only have harddrives and a graphics card - no difference
5. I pulled out the memory. No error, not even a beep (maybe my beeper is broken or not connected).
6. I tested with other memory (different brand) - same error
7. I cleared CMOS - did not help
8. I pulled out the batter of CMOS AND cleared - no difference

In all cases computer boots up and diskdrives flashes. No beeps.

Only thing left now (according to me) is the motherboard and CPU. My computer has been overclocked - but for a year without a problem.

Can the computer even start when the CPU is broken?
Do you think it is the mainboard?

Any other thoughts? Thanks.

since you have done all the obvious things, its not looking too good is it?

You will find drives etc will start up as power is getting to them, but the fact you have no post beeps, means either CPU or MOBO.

The only other real option here you havent tried, is the PSU. It could be one of the 5V Rails has failed in it. PSU failure is more likely than MOBO / CPU failure.
