Hi

I own a Philips 109P Monitor. Unfortunately my monitor makes a high pitch screaming sound when it is starting up (before Windows loads) and when I am gaming. If I jiggle the power cord at the socket on the back of the monitor the frequency of the sound changes and stops and starts. This has been getting progressively worse since I bought the monitor 7 months ago. I have allready had it repaired by an authorised Philips service centre but all they did was replace the power input which did absolutely nothing (apart from take six weeks).

I assume this problem is a frequency issue. Can somebody please shed any more light on this?!?

Thanks.

Do Phillips offer a swop out service?
It may be worthwhile seeing if the monitor can be swopped for another rather than repaired, just don't except anything that doesn't look as new or in as good condition as yours.
Either way it is under warranty and Phillips should have there ears bent untill it is fixed properly. Martin Vote if you found this post helpful please!!

You could try altering the refresh rate (Hz) and the screen resolution and see if that makes any difference. Also, if you have one available, try a different video card, and even try connecting the monitor upto a friends' PC and see if it still misbehaves...

However, if the monitor is only 7 months old, you should be bashing the supplier over the head (figuratively speaking!)to replace it under warranty!
