Scratchy Calls and Call Drops

Hey Everybody,

I just heard from a user that he was on the phone with someone internally and the user on the other end could not hear him well, sound was cutting in and out. Then the call was dropped, they called each other back and finished the call. Shortly after that he had tried to call a vendor and ended up having to make the call from his cell phone. Not sure where to even begin with getting to the bottom of this. Are there any diagnostics I can run or something similar? Hoping someone can at least get me moving in the right direction.

analog lines? run an impedance match them on?

@AAcon - We had the Analog line & PRI provider look into some intermittent call drops a couple weeks ago and they did something similar and didn't find any issues. Would the impedance match be something they'd look for to rule out their equipment?

They probably wouldn't, no. But it's something you can do on the analog lines themselves (under lines). I've had to do it on more and more systems. If it's scratchy/bad across the board, including the PRI...make sure the system is properly grounded. Past that, check wiring, and then yell at the provider. It could be mice.
